I don't know really. As a person, I suppose I'm one for a long term relationship but... Lillian is definitely a flirt. For one thing, I've seen on the network that she flirts with other people. And when I started to show interest in her, the flirting was instant. Sexual innuendos, which such forwardness I'm not really use to. My ex was definitely not like that. I'm... not sure how to react to her really. She's fun, interesting to talk to but, I'm not sure if long term is what she's looking for. I'm kind of just... [Derek shrugs.] kind of going with the flow. She's definitely a welcomed detraction. Lillian... helps me take my mind off of... well her.

[Derek is of course referring to his ex.]

Well, perhaps that's what you need for the time being...? I doubt a serious relationship is the best idea so soon after all of that, anyway.

That may be an accurate assumption. I mean, how log does one wait after getting out of a six and a half year long relationship? I still have some of her clothing in my closet and the ring. Not that I haven't tried to get rid of the clothes, but I can't seem to get in contact with her to get her forwarding address in LA. And I don't even know what to do with the ring.

...Literally any suggestion I have to offer is going to be highly insensitive, so I'm likely not the best person to ask about things like that.

Though seriously, what should I do with the ring? Should I just pawn the ring off? I'm thinking about what if in the future someone finds it in my sock drawer and misunderstands.

[Derek grimaces a bit due to thinking back to his first year of university.]

There was this one particular girl I had a fling with who was uncomfortably nosy. In general girls are nosy...

One of my high school girlfriends got up upset that I was texting a female classmate. Thought I was cheating. If she had bothered to read them she would have seen it was about the calculus homework. But no, she freaked out and screamed at me. Wouldn't have happened if she hadn't looked at my phone.

But the really nosy one was this girl who I was fooling around with during my first year of uni. She apparently liked to go through my clothes. I didn't realize it until I woke up one night and she had gone through all my boxers. Really creeped me out. Did not ask her out after that.

...I'm not certain if this is "girls, in general, are nosy" or a matter of questionable taste.

That could be true. I'd like to think my tastes have improved though over the years.

Well, I'm sure we've all made at least one horrible misjudgment or another when we were still sorting ourselves out.

[Derek pauses to think about what Cumore said. His eyebrows furrow for a moment and then gives his friend a looks of disbelief.]

Did you just imply that my taste in women hasn't improved since my first year of university?
